1. God commands us to be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:27-28. Says So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 9:1 says and God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth.
Genesis 35:11 says And God said unto him, I am God Almighty; be fruitful and multiply: a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins
2. Children are a gift from God. Psalm 127:3-5 says Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is a man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed but they shall speak with the enemies at the gate. 1 Chronicles 25: 4-5 and 1 chronicles 26: 4-5 show how children are a blessing and people used to view children as a blessing. However, Luke 23:29 and Luke 23:34 is a prophecy from Jesus about how people view children today. Luke 23:29 says For behold the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Luke 23:34 says Then Jesus said Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.
We often pray for this or that blessing but shut the door when he might give us such a blessing. By rejecting a blessing from God, We would be rejecting God himself.
Why so, often, do we say we truly give everything to God but leave out this or that? No matter what it is, we strive to fully trust God for ALL things. And by doing so, does not mean this path is easy but the Bible says we will be persecuted for our beliefs here on earth.
